December Technology Tips

Hello Reader

Welcome to My Technology Tips for December!
December always feels like a time to slow down, savor special moments, and celebrate growth, big and small. For families and classrooms, it’s also a whirlwind of wrapping up the semester, preparing for celebrations, and maintaining steady routines through the busy season.

That’s why I’m so grateful for Khan Academy and Khan Academy Kids, free, trusted tools that bring a little more ease and a lot more joy into learning. Khan Academy is a free online learning platform that offers lessons, practice exercises, and instructional videos across subjects like math, science, reading, and more. Designed for learners of all ages, it allows students to work at their own pace while tracking progress and earning mastery points along the way.

Khan Academy Kids is a playful, app-based learning experience for children ages 2–8. It uses stories, songs, and interactive games to teach early math, reading, and social-emotional skills, all in a nurturing, curiosity-driven environment.

Why Khan Academy & Khan Academy Kids:

  • It's a gift for every learner: From preschool basics to high school academic support, it’s all free and available anytime.
  • It keeps learning joyful: Interactive lessons and games in Khan Academy Kids spark curiosity and creativity.
  • It supports real progress: Personalized learning paths help students grow at their own pace.
  • It saves time during busy days: With ready-to-go lessons, parents and teachers can focus on building skills through a trusted platform.
  • It helps build confidence that lasts: Students head into the new year feeling prepared, capable, and inspired.

As we close out the year, it’s comforting to know there are resources that nurture both minds and hearts. Khan Academy and Khan Academy Kids remind us that learning can be accessible and engaging, a true gift that carries into the new year.

May this December bring you moments of rest, joy, and growth.

With gratitude,
Dr. Erica Warren
