Hello Reader,

As many students head into tests and finals at the end of the school year, it’s important to remember that many learners today are not struggling because they are lazy or unmotivated. They are overwhelmed.

Between digital distractions, increasing academic demands, overloaded schedules, and constant multitasking, students are being asked to manage more than ever before, often without being taught how to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, and regulate their workload.

That’s why I wanted to share one of my newest blog posts:

7 Executive Functioning Tools I Recommend to Students

This blog highlights free (or mostly free) tools that can make a big difference for the executive functioning brain. After more than 25 years as an educational therapist and executive functioning coach, I’ve found that students do not need overly complicated systems or endless productivity hacks. They need simple, supportive tools that reduce overwhelm and make learning more manageable.

In this post, I share several tools I regularly recommend to students, including Google Calendar, Goblin Tools, NotebookLM, GoodNotes, Pomofocus, and the Shovel Study Planner. These resources can help students stay organized, manage their workload more effectively, strengthen focus and time management, and build systems that reduce stress and support confidence.
